Singing for BMI's Mary Liz McNamara this Thursday.

This Thursday, I'll be singing for the BMI Musical Theater Workshop, an acclaimed stomping ground for new, developing, and established musical theater writers and composers. I'll be playing the role of Lucy from "The Good Girl" by Mary Liz McNamara, and the grapevine is abuzz with John Kander being a part of the Master Class teachers that evening!

Listen to My Husband's New Podcast

My husband, Pete, and his friend Jeff (who lives in Japan) have recorded their conversations about Japan into podcast form - it's called "Ni Baka Gaikokujin (2 Idiot Foreigners)" and the RSS feed for iTunes and other readers is here. Listen and tell Pete and Jeff what you think.

Happy Birthday Shakespeare! Happy Birthday cousin Elena!

I remember when I was in 7th grade, and my Mom picked me up from school on April 23rd (understood to be William Shakespeare's birthday). I had a 3-D model of The Globe Theater, which I made specially for a Happy Birthday Shakespeare presentation in English class that day. I placed it in the back seat, and then my Mom told me I had a new cousin - her name was Elena. She has since grown up to be a smart, cultured, artistic, healthy, adventurous young lady, the kind that Shakespeare would have added as a heroine in one of his own plays. So, happy birthday Will and Elena!

Vocal Lessons with Steven Stein-Grainger

I am starting to take voice lessons from reknown voice teacher, Mr. Steven Stein-Grainger. He's a LOT of fun, yet doesn't let anything go past his well-tuned ears and eyes. He offers regular voice lessons as well as master classes (I audited one class of his before starting lessons with him), and can be contacted through his Facebook page and his own personal actor-singer website.

Thanks for reading!
